Looking for a fun, creative activity for your child this Veterans Day 2014? You have found one at your neighborhood robot store for Tuesday, November 11th running from 9a.m. - 4p.m. with half day options available.

Veterans Day Off Camp

Continuing the newly created Day Off Camps in store, this Veterans Day come for either a half day or full day of building robots and making friends.

Let’s take a look at what students will be building during this full day of fun.

1. Salt Water Powered Robot by 4M - This cute, tiny little robot figure is actually powered by a mixture of salt and water. It’s easy to build and opens up young minds to the possibilities of alternative energy. Plus, its cool!
2. Bubble Robot by 4M - This not so tiny robot actually blows bubbles. After connecting their wires, student plus a small fan on the end of the motor shaft which creates the air movement needed to make bubble magic happen! The other end of the same motor has a little worm gear attached which (through a series of other gears) raises and lowers the robot’s arm. The arm takes a quick dip in the bubble solution and then raises to just the right point where it meets the air from the fan.

Now that you know what the students are building take a look at some of the reason why they should be building.

Hand-on Fun While Learning

Our ongoing mission is geared towards youth and embodies “entertaining while educating.” RobotCity reaches out to Chicago and the greater area to make this mission happen. Currently, we have a presence in about 30 classrooms all of which are well attended with smiles and busy minds.

When school is not in session children have the option of attending our educational/entertaining Robot Summer Camps and our new Day Off Camps.

Our Day Off Camps are just another way to keep learning while having fun here at our store. Veterans Day 2014 marks Day Off Camp #3 and just like all the other camps, students get to have a hands on time with some of our educational learning tools.

Veterans Day 2014 camp will feature some cool reusable activities such as push-button programmable robots fun for all ages, the Bee Bots and the Big Track Jr.

What are the Other Bells and Whistles for this Veterans Day 2014?

Every student leaves not only with a robot they build themselves but also an official RobotCity t-shirt!

Basically, anytime you child has a day off from school we are here as a resource to continue learning outside of the classroom setting. Children even learn during our awesome, award winning birthday parties (where a robot brings out the birthday cake).

And if for some reason you can’t make the date for Veterans Day 2014 we have another Day Off Camp the very next day on Parent Teacher Conference Day, Wednesday, November 13 with half days running from 9-12 and 1-4 while full day camp runs 9-4.
