CURRENT AVAILABLE POSITIONS
We are seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working with children to conduct fun filled programs and camps at local area elementary schools and other locations within the city and the greater Chicagoland area. Our after school programs run between six to twenty weeks in length and are are conducted one day a week for a single hour in the mid afternoon. These classes include various science activities as well as the construction of DIY robot kits that each student completes with the help of the assigned instructor(s), that they get to take home.
An instructor’s primary responsibility is leading a classroom of children in a fun filled environment and guiding them through various activities and presenting different science concepts and fundamentals throughout the curriculum.
Following written directions and pictorial guides, you will be working with small hand tools and tiny parts so a good amount of dexterity, general problem solving and being able to figure things out will be needed. A background in education or science is preferred but not necessary. Previous experience working with children is a plus. We provide all training and materials.
A commitment to a minimum of two schools per week are required although additional work is encouraged for those with availability and who show the potential to succeed. This is an excellent job for college students and people with flexible schedules looking for part-time hours. Dependability, punctuality and organizational skills are a must.
