Beginner Kits
Perfect for first time robot builders! These kits can be built in two hours or so and require simple hand tools like wire cutters and a screwdriver. No previous knowledge is necessary. These kits are our most popular and are used for our Beginner Workshops.

JungleBot
Build this exciting robot that can climb a rope, hand over hand like a monkey or stomp across the ground like a gorilla! Make a sound and the robot comes to life for a preset time and then rests, waiting for the next sound. A comprehensive kit that teaches basic mechanics and sound sensing circuits, this is one of our most popular kits.
Tribotz
Using only basic hand tools assemble this robot kit for a fun learning experience. The TRIBOTZ is three robots in one! Tribotz can operate in: Avoider mode where on-board sensors help Tribotz to avoid obstacles, Sound Operating mode where Tribotz changes direction in response to sound impulses, and in Line Tracer mode where on-board sensors enable the robot to follow a line drawn by a felt tipped pen.
Weasel Robot
Weasel is a tenacious little robot warrior that embodies two sensors that allow it to "see" a line or "feel" its way along walls and around corners. The two motors and contact sensor activate the wall sensing micro switch to control the motors' on/off operation that determines the path of a wall. It is the classic robot design using the "Left Hand Rule" to escape mazes.
Follow Me Robot
Another kit offered in our beginner workshop series, this sound detecting and following robot is really cool! The four built-in microphones detect the sound source in 360 degrees. Upon detection, the robot turn towards the sound and advances to it. Just clap and the robot will come to you. Clap again from another position and the robot will turn and move in that direction.
Tin Can Robot
Recycle that old soda can by turning it into a silly robot that waddles forward on it's cam-lobed wheels. This kit is a great example of where robots can fit comfortably into the Green Revolution! The kit includes parts and instructions, just recycle that old can and you’re ready!
Deluxe Snap Rover
Have fun building your own R/C Snap Rover using the colorful Snap Circuits parts that come with this kit. This kit is the first step to developing a practical understanding of circuits. Once completed, you will be able to navigate your surroundings with the remote control. Press one button on the remote to launch discs from the Disc Shooter, and press another to play a pre-recorded message that you provide! Over forty experiments will keep you occupied!
Robot Duck
Robot Duck is the ideal entry-level robot project. Follow the directions to build a crazy, duck-walking unit that promises to whet their appetites for future robotic endeavors.
Smart Robot
The Smart Robot Kit lets you build a slick-looking domed robot that slides across smooth surfaces under its own power. When it bumps into an obstacle, it simply turns right or left and keeps on going. Its propulsion system involves a rotating sphere and the offset weight of the motor (but that's a secret, so keep it to yourself). Comes with clearly illustrated assembly instructions, fun robot facts, and suggestions for making a maze for your robot.
Doodling Robot
Build a robot that draws! Kids will enjoy building their own robot - and their own works of art! The Doodling Robot can doodle a picture while vibrating around, demonstrating its energetic spinning powers, creating patterns with markers in its grip. This fun kit has a motor that makes the robot shake and spin. When you remove the pens from the body, the robot slides across smooth surfaces!
Brush Robot
Kids will enjoy building their own robot - one that cleans up after them! Powered by the rapid vibrations of the motor, the robot scuffles along on a wooden brush, sweeping up as he goes. A great lesson in model building, basic mechanics, and basic robotics.
Soda Can Robobug
Recycle a soda can and turn it into a cool robotic bug. Switch it on and watch its vibration to cause it to slide across the floor. It even emits a "buzz" as it moves along - just like a real bug. You need to recycle a soda can to complete the project.
Line Tracking Robot
The Line Tracker robot is our best selling robot kit! It will follow a black line (or use black tape if you don't want to mark up the floor!), Build him and see what he can do! The LED eyes blink back and forth to let you know that he is awake and doing his job... A very cool robot kit at a great
price.
